Terms, Conditions and Code of Conduct
1. Eligibility
-
Le’karev group meetings are open only to Jewish business owners and professionals.
-
For the purposes of Le’karev, a person is considered Jewish if they:
-
Have a Jewish parent, or
-
Have converted to Judaism through any recognised denomination.
-
-
We welcome individuals of all levels of observance and from all denominations of Judaism, including those with no current synagogue affiliation.
-
Non-Jewish individuals, including spouses, colleagues, or allies, are not eligible to attend group meetings.
2. Security
-
All new visitors are required to provide information to assist Le’karev in confirming that they are Jewish. If this cannot be satisfactorily confirmed for any reason, the booking will be cancelled and the ticket refunded. Attendance will not be permitted.
-
Members and visitors must comply with all security measures in place at meetings. This includes any requirements set by Le’karev or by the synagogue or venue hosting the meeting, such as sign-in procedures, ID checks, or bag searches.
-
Printed attendance lists are provided to attendees at meetings. These must be kept securely and must not be left behind, shared publicly, or passed to anyone outside the network.
-
Security concerns during meetings must be reported immediately to the Group Leader or synagogue security staff. General concerns or questions about security should be sent to: enquiries@jewishbusiness.network
-
Members and visitors will not be held responsible for the actions of others. However, they are expected to use discretion and consider the context when recommending fellow members’ businesses. Stating that a business is part of a Jewish network may, in some cases, expose others to antisemitism. Le’karev expects all members and visitors to exercise sound judgment before sharing this information.
3. Membership & Meetings
-
Membership/visitor booking forms must be submitted at least 24 hours before the meeting you wish to attend. If this deadline is missed, attendance will be rolled to the next month.
-
Membership is available on a 6-month or 12-month basis, with payments made monthly via standing order for the full membership term. By joining, you commit to completing all payments regardless of attendance.
-
Meeting dates follow a regular monthly schedule (e.g. the third Monday of each month, 7.30pm–9.30pm), with full details published in the online calendar. From time to time, dates may change (e.g. for Jewish holidays). Changes will be communicated via email, WhatsApp, and the Le’karev website.
-
If you cannot attend a meeting, you are asked to inform your Group Leader at the earliest opportunity. You cannot carry over the meeting. However, you may send a substitute (who should also be Jewish) - their name must be submitted at least one business day in advance.
-
You are asked to arrive promptly and to follow the meeting format as led by the Group Leader or Assistant Host.
4. Membership Payments
-
All membership payments are non-refundable. Failure to attend meetings does not release you from payment obligations.
-
A £25 admin fee applies if you request to transfer to a different group during your membership period.
-
Changes to membership fees will be notified with at least 30 days’ notice. If you do not wish to continue at the new rate, you must email written notice to: enquiries@jewishbusiness.network before the new rate takes effect. Your membership will then be cancelled from the date the new rate begins, and no further payments will be taken.
5. Code of Conduct
-
Le’karev is committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment, and all members and visitors are expected to act in accordance with our Inclusion Policy.
-
Business category lockouts do not apply. There may be multiple members in similar industries. Members and visitors are expected to adopt an ethos of collaboration over competition.
-
There is no obligation to bring visitors or provide referrals. Likewise, no guarantees of business referrals are made. However, it is expected that members will support each other and the growth of the network.
-
Members and visitors are expected to behave in a respectful manner at all times towards other members, visitors, staff of Le’karev and host synagogues, and guests.
-
Any concerns or complaints should be raised privately with your Group Leader in the first instance. If needed, you can escalate to: enquiries@jewishbusiness.network.
6. Accessibility and Diversity
-
Le’karev is committed to creating an inclusive, welcoming environment for all Jewish members and visitors. We aim to accommodate individual needs wherever possible to ensure that everyone who attends can fully participate in our events.
-
If you have any specific requirements (e.g. accessibility, dietary needs, or any other considerations), please contact: enquiries@jewishbusiness.network and we will do our best to support you.
-
All members and visitors are expected to familiarise themselves with Le’karev’s Inclusion Statement and to behave in accordance with its principles.
7. Equality and Anti-Discrimination
-
Discrimination, harassment, or bullying of any kind will not be tolerated at any Le’karev event or in any Le’karev group communications. Breaches of this policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of membership, without refund.
-
Concerns can be raised with the Group Leader or sent to: enquiries@jewishbusiness.network.
8. Liability & Privacy
-
Le’karev accepts no responsibility for loss, damage or injury incurred at meetings or during participation in network activities. Members attend at their own risk and are advised to take suitable care of themselves and their belongings.
-
Photographs may be taken at events for marketing purposes. When booking a visit or joining as a member, individuals are asked to confirm their consent for their image to be used. If you later wish to withdraw consent, you must notify Le’karev by emailing enquiries@jewishbusiness.network. Withdrawal of consent will apply to future use only and does not extend to content already published.
-
Meetings are private and confidential. No audio or video recording, voice memos, or AI transcription (e.g. Otter.ai, Notion AI) is permitted without prior consent from Le’karev. Unauthorised recording will be treated as a serious breach and may result in immediate membership termination.
-
Your personal data is used solely to manage your membership and communicate with you. We do not sell your information. Your business contact details may be shared with other members or third parties when making introductions or referrals, but only in the context of Le’karev’s networking purpose. Your information will not be shared outside this context without your explicit consent.
9. Cancellation
-
You may cancel your membership within 14 calendar days of joining by emailing: enquiries@jewishbusiness.network. Admin fees may apply.
-
After the 14-day period, membership is non-cancellable and payments remain due for the full agreed term. However, in exceptional circumstances, members may request early termination by emailing: enquiries@jewishbusiness.network. Requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis and approval is at Le’karev’s sole discretion.
-
In the event of death or permanent disability, the member or their estate may request a refund of unused membership fees (proof may be required).
-
Le’karev reserves the right to terminate any membership, with notice, if the Code of Conduct or Terms & Conditions are breached.
10. Changes to Terms
-
These Terms & Conditions and Code of Conduct may be updated at any time. Significant changes will be notified via email and/or in WhatsApp groups.
